Basic Needs

  • LifeHouse - 402-721-3125 - Provides short-term emergency shelter to individuals and families in a housing crisis. Programs include case management, professional counseling, and life skills education classes to assist residents in securing employment and housing.

    402-727-6884 - LifeHouse also provides programs for Dodge County residents in need of food, household goods, hygiene products, rent and utility assistance. Specialized food programs and school supply distribution are also available.

Health

  • The Bridge Crisis Center - 402-727-7777 or 888-721-4340 - Comprehensive services to victims, their families, and perpetrators of domestic violence and sexual assault, including 24-hour hotline and shelter programs, support groups, criminal justice advocacy, and an educational program for perpetrators of violence.
  • Fremont Family YMCA - 402-721-6952 - Hundreds of area children have access to the health, wellness, and value-centered programs at the YMCA due to the financial aid/scholarship program, where no child is denied.
  • Lutheran Family Services - Building Families Boutique - 402-941-0075 - an incentive-based early intervention/prevention program for families with children prenatal-age 5, where participating parents earn points by engaging in healthy activities. Families redeem points for new and gently used infant and toddler items at our Boutique store.

Education

  • Dodge County Head Start - 402-721-9022 - Provides child development and education services to low income 3- and 4-year-olds and their families. Early Head Start is a comprehensive early childhood home visitation program for pregnant mothers and infants and toddlers Birth to age 3.
  • Hope Center for Kids, Fremont - 402-670-4351 - Provides academic support for youth and children during the school year. During the summer, they provide a free lunch and academic enrichment for at-risk children. 
  • Roots to Wings - 402-478-5215 - Opportunity for advanced work skill training for young adult individuals with developmental disabilities. A commitment to promote happy, healthy, productive life-styles with an abiding respect to foster independence and a desire to provide experiences that transform into opportunities.

Income

  • Habitat for Humanity - 402-721-8771 - Builds simple, decent, affordable houses with specially selected low income neighbors. Partner families purchase their homes, and provide many hours of "sweat equity" building houses.
